Woytopia sustainable living festival

Woy Woy South Public School,
Waterloo Ave, Woy Woy

Sunday 14 October 2018, 9am-3pm

Stall enquiries: Zainem Ibrahim
All other enquiries/event manager: Mark Mann

Woytopia celebrates sustainable living on the Woy Woy Peninsula on the NSW Central Coast with green talks, gardening workshops, presentations and an eco-market featuring stalls from organic produce to hemp clothing.

But you don’t have to be a greenie to enjoy Woytopia – it’s a fantastic day family day out with great music, a wide range of delicious food stalls, and a heap of great kids’ entertainment and activities.

And it’s free! (Although we would appreciate a gold coin donation to support the event.)

Woytopia is a waste and water-wise event run on 100% green power. No dogs, drugs or alcohol allowed on site.

Vision and history
The Woytopia festival is run by the Peninsula Environment Group (PEG), a local non-profit incorporated association. We wanted to create a great family day that also celebrated the beautiful place we live in (hence the name: Woytopia!) and build a sense of community by bringing people together, while offering a more artistically diverse, eco-minded alternative to other local events such as the Oyster Festival. And we wanted a positive event that would inspire us, reminding us we are not alone in our passion and concern for the environment.

There have been Woytopia festivals in 2010, 2011, 2012 and (moving to every two years) in 2014 and 2016 with average attendances around 3000. Woytopia is run by volunteers and funded by small grants, local sponsors, income from stalls and gold coin entry donations. Many of the musicians, entertainers and stallholders are Peninsula or Central Coast locals.

Woytopia is organised by the Peninsula Environment Group (PEG)
